Which area of Telford is best for you?

With more people making a break from the bigger cities, Telford is a fast-growing town that is quickly becoming a popular destination. Located between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton, it has great transport links to larger towns and cities while also offering a wide range of local attractions and amenities.

Telford was actually created in the 1960s by merging several smaller towns, including Wellington, Okengates and Dawley. While the town has continued to develop, each of these villages still has their own distinct personality, making Telford the ideal place for people from every background.

Why move to Telford?

Telford has some great attractions and amenities that make for excellent living, no matter what your hobbies or interests. Along with the Telford Shopping Centre, the town has a whole host of sports activities and nature reserves to keep active. From golf clubs and cycling routes to an ice-rink and dry ski slope, there’s something for everyone to get involved in.

There’s also a great infrastructure which connects to the M54, and plenty of excellent transport links. Train stations connect the different areas with Telford town centre, as well as larger towns and cities like Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

If you’re looking for a town with history, then Telford won’t disappoint. To the south lies the Ironbridge Gorge, a stunning World Heritage Site filled with independent shops and museums. Known as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, you can also see the world’s first ever bridge made out of iron.

There are also a number of excellent schools catering for all ages, as well as days out for all the family. From Dawley’s unique Alice in Wonderland experience and the Blists Hill Victorian Town, to Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World, Telford is a place that will spark the imaginations and curiosity of children and adults alike.
