Shropshire, a great place to live!

 

Did you know that Shropshire was named one of the happiest places to live in the UK in 2016? This comes as no surprise to us! With its picturesque countryside, pretty towns, extremely photographic streets and historic buildings, how could you not be happy here! We thought we would round up a mixture of super places to visit and things to do with your friends and family.

 

 

Hawkstone Park Follies, Shrewsbury

This is truly a magical place to visit with its historic woodland landscape, cliffs, caves, towers and bridges! You will most definitely need your walking boots to explore. Keep your eye out on the events that happen throughout the year, there is something for everyone.

 

 

XscapeNow, Ketley

If you and your friends and family love to solve a mystery you will not be disappointed here. You will have to work as a team and really put your heads together to solve puzzles and find clues in order to escape! Be prepared to beat the clock as there is a time limit of an hour!

 

 

The Wellington Orbit, Wellington

Cinema lover? This wonderful community-run cinema, café and art space only opened a few months ago and is already a hit! See if you can spot our plaque on one of the cinema seats.

 

 

Exotic Zoo at Lakeside Plant Centre, Priorslee

Not only can you visit over 70 amazing animals here, but you can also get involved in in the action with their tailor-made experiences. For all you David Attenborough fans this place will be right up your street.

 

 

Ironbridge Gorge Museums, Ironbridge

Home to some amazing museums that make for an unforgettable experience for anyone. With attractions such as Blist Hill Victorian Town, The Coalport China Museum and much more, there will be plenty to keep everyone occupied.

 

 

The Dana Jail Tours, Shrewsbury

For all you seasoned ghost hunters we would definitely recommend the Ghost Hunt at the jail. This certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted so we wouldn’t bring along the kids!

 

 

Ludlow Castle, Ludlow

Get a glimpse into the medieval lifestyle of one of the finest medieval ruins in England. There are lots of independent shops and eateries, some hidden away in the medieval streets so make time to wander around whilst you are there.

 

 

Attingham Park, Atcham

Choose from three wonderful walks in the stunning parkland; the Deer Park Walk, Woodland Walk and World War II Walk.  Explore the walled kitchen garden & orchard or The Mansion house which is opened daily. Whether you are going for a short visit or planning on spending the whole day you will not struggle for things to do at this wonderful location.
