People have more free time over the Christmas period to browse properties online on their brand new iPhones and laptops. When everyone gets to Boxing Day they have eaten and drunk too much. Most likely all the family will be together for the first time in forever, so this will be the perfect time to discuss what is needed for the new year, like a new home.
The first port of call will be Rightmove to see what is on offer, which is why Boxing Day is the busiest day of the year for them! Come January there will be a rush of people looking to buy and sell, but you don’t have to wait, you can still get your property on the market today.

We appreciate for some that it isn’t ideal to have viewings in the run-up to Christmas or during the festive period, but it’s still a great time to get viewings lined up for when your household returns to normality in January.
If you want to sell but are completely against the idea of putting your property on the market before Christmas, we would recommend that you start to get everything in place now. Instruct your estate agent to get the marketing materials ready so that when the New Year hits you are good to go with no delays and are ahead of the competition.
